High-Holiday Forms
The High Holiday forms and these guidelines are available for download in PDF format.
Please direct any seating questions to seating@kmsynagogue.org.
Note: We have combined Seat Reservations, Child Care Reservations, and Yizkor Booklet Memorial donations into a single form.
Minyanim
We will be holding three Minyanim for the High Holidays - Sanctuary, Beit Midrash, and Social Hall. Assigned Seating will be in effect on Rosh Hashanah Day 1 (All Minyanim); Rosh Hashanah Day 2 (Maariv and Shacharit/Musaf); Yom Kippur (All Minyanim). Please fill out your seating form as completely as possible and specify at which minyan you and your guests wish to daven. Please also note whether you, your whole family, and/or guests will be here for both Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur.

Traditional Minyan with Marty Jacobs and Yakov Schorr as primary Baale Musaf
|
Traditional Minyan with a rotation of Baale Musaf including Ari Tuchman, Richard Marcus, and Ira Rabin
Notes: For families with young children, the Social Hall provides close proximity to child care and provides more space in the back.
|
Based on the success of last year's Educational Minyan, the Beit Midrash will offer a different style of Minyan. Over the Yamim Noraim, the Beit Midrash minyan will include both our traditional davening style combined with some or all of the following features: inspirational commentary during the service (instead of a single D'Var Torah), enhanced singing; and parts of the Service led by unmarried participants. Joey Turitz will be the Primary Baal Musaf with Rabbi Ari Israel and Rabbi Avi Weinstein providing the inspirational commentary.
Notes: This minyan is not a "beginner's service" or "youth service" but aims to provide a different spiritual experience. We will not accept requests for Youth Seats unless parents will also be seated in this minyan.

Financial Arrangements
Financial concerns should never impact one's decision to join KMS for High Holiday Services. Please be assured that we want you to be part of our family and we will work with you on financial arrangements tailored to your needs. All cases will be handled with strict confidentiality.
To discuss extenuating circumstances due to financial hardship, please contact Alec Stone, Synagogue Treasurer
Seating Policies
- Full Member and Associate Member families are entitled to purchase seats for their immediate family, extended family, and out of town guests.
- Immediate Family includes members, dependent children under 18 years of age, and unmarried children under age-25 attending university.
- Youth Seats - Available for ages 7-18.
- Full payment must be accompanied with the seating reservation form.
- Unfortunately, seating requests cannot be made by telephone. Please indicate in writing any specific requests on the seating form itself. Special preferences will be considered only if received before the Aug. 1.
- All assigned seats will be indicated on alphabetized lists and large maps outside the doors of the three minyanim prior to the start of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Due to the many last minute requests we receive, we cannot provide seating information in advance.
- Once reservation forms have been submitted and seats assigned, any changes to approved seating requests must be made in writing (email is ok) and submitted to the synagogue office.
- Let us know if you or your guests have physical challenges (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, or other access limitations) or other special needs (e.g., childcare-related issues) that affect your seating assignment.
Child Care (Ages 2-12)
- Children ages 7-12 for whom seats are purchased may also join the child care program at no extra cost. However, if your 7-12 year old is unlikely to use a seat or attend child care, please let us know so we can plan appropriately.
- Child care for children ages 2-6 will be available for the same price as a youth seat. Please indicate requests for Child Care on the Seating Reservation Form.
- We apologize, but we cannot accommodate children under age-2.
Yizkor Booklet
We will be publishing a new version of the KMS Yizkor booklet for 2009. The cost for individual memorials are $10; Patron Sponsorship for the booklet is $180. We would be happy to include your memorials from last year's book. Please check the appropriate box on the Seat Reservation Form
