Mishpacha Lomedet Wrap Up

Lisa Brookman

We recently wrapped up an exciting Mishpacha Lomedet program. Mishpacha Lomedet, Family Learning,  met every other Motzai Shabbat from December through March. All KMS kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade and their caregivers were invited to participate in a hour of Torah study, theater, craft making, & pizza.

Lisi Levisohn kicked off this year’s program with her fabulous parsha sheets and engaging text study. Rav Oron brought insight and taught about the hidden nature of masks before Purim and  the paradox of parah aduma. The Torah MiTzion bachurim, Etzion Shimoni, Daniel Avraham, Liel Cohen,Yitzchak Zitter together with bnot sheirut Shulamit Ehrman and Oria Segal brought lessons to life with their Torah theater each and every week. Each session ended with delicious pizza from Ben Yehuda.

The kid favorite by far was our Tu B’Shvat  activity. After learning about the special mitzvot concerning trees, the kids assembled their very own “dirt cakes” made from chocolate pudding, chocolate cake,  and cookie crumbles. They topped them off with candy worms from The Candy Man.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s program so fun and successful. We are already looking forward to next time! Hope to see you there!
